Wey-Hey

Today a customer laughed at me and said "You're not a local, are you?" because I think Weybourne is pronounced Way-born and not Webben.

I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR ALMOST ALL OF MY TWENTY-NINE YEARS AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER HEARD ANYONE CALL OUR WEYBOURNE, WEBBEN!

I see that the Weybourne in Norfolk is pronounced Webben, but this Weybourne is on the River Wey. The Webben pronunciation makes no sense here!
